Corruption perception survey in Botswana


'The Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADP) will next month conduct a corruption perception survey in Botswana as a way of tackling the many risks that the board is exposed to in its operations.


'PPADB Executive Chairperson Bridget John said that the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crimes (DCEC) audited the board's processes, procedures and practices in August 2011 and highlighted areas of risk which included long lead times for contractor registration, leakage of confidential information, improper evaluation of tenders by Procuring Entities (PEs), poor management of contractors by PEs, and lack of procurement planning.'
